When you book a court in the Playtomic app, you will have the possibility to split the payment between all players so that each one can pay only their part.
🚨 The app will automatically detect if another player is a member of a Club and if they have a special discount ✌️
The split payment process explained
When you have chosen the Club, the day and the time slot of your reservation, click on the 'Pay your part' button that will appear on the screen prior to the reservation payment:
Synchronize your contacts
You can synchronize your phones contact list with the Playtomic app and search for your friends
Add players and check out
Once you have added the rest of the players, click on the 'Continue payment' button. You will be charged only your proportional part of the total reservation price. For example, if the total of the court is € 20, you only have to pay € 5.
Check the status
In the 'View' section of the match, you can check the status of all players payments (pending or paid).
How Split Payment guarantees work
Depending on the club and country, one of three mechanisms will apply to your booking. Here's what to expect with each:
Pre-authorisation (temporary hold) The full reservation amount is temporarily frozen on your payment method to confirm your card is valid and has sufficient funds. The hold is released once all players have paid their share. If any shares remain unpaid, the outstanding amount is charged automatically 2 hours after the match ends, using the pre-authorisation funds.
More information here.
Card on File Your card is saved securely when you book, and you only pay your share upfront — no hold is placed. If any shares remain unpaid 2 hours after the match ends, the outstanding amounts are automatically charged to the booking owner's saved card.
More information here.
Debt system You pay your own share at the time of booking with no hold or saved card required. However, if other players don't pay their share in time, or a club payment isn't registered within 2 hours of the match ending, the outstanding amount is added as a debt on the booking owner's profile. This debt will prevent you from making new bookings until it's settled — you can pay it directly in the app using a card.
More information here.
Pending Payments
All players have until 2 hours after the match ends to pay their share — online payment is always preferred. If a player doesn't pay online, or pays at the club but the club doesn't mark it as paid in time, the outstanding amount will be charged to you as the booking owner.
If you're the booking owner and have a pending charge:
- Another player didn't pay → cover the amount and use the match chat to request reimbursement directly from them
- A player paid at the club but it wasn't registered → contact the club directly, as only they can arrange the refund. You'll find their contact details in your booking confirmation email or in the app
If you were invited to the match and have a pending payment: You still have up to 2 hours after the match ends to pay your share. After that, the charge falls on the booking owner — use the match chat to coordinate if needed.
Paying for Other Players
If split payment was selected at booking, it's not possible to pay another player's share directly. Once a reservation is created with split payment, it cannot be switched to single payment and vice versa.
That said, if you're the booking owner and want to cover everyone's costs, ask the other players not to pay — their unpaid shares will be automatically charged to you 2 hours after the match ends.
