How to Change Player Positions in an Open Match

If the players in your open match are in the wrong order, you can switch their positions after the match has been played, but only before entering the results.

Important:

  • Each player is only responsible for their own spot and cannot delete another player, unless you use the feature "Add My Partner"
  • Any player can change positions after the match ends
  • You can only change positions before entering results—once results are submitted, no changes can be made

Steps to Switch Player Positions

  1. After your match ends, you'll receive a notification to confirm players and enter results
  2. Tap Add results in the match details screen
  3. Tap the blue Edit Players button in the top right corner
  4. Click on Switch positions
  5. Select the first player whose position you want to change
  6. Select the second player to switch positions with the first
  7. Tap Confirm Players
  8. Proceed to enter the match results as usual

This allows you to accurately reflect how the teams actually played, even if it differs from the original match setup.

  • There needs to be an edge case where you can switch players after the start time. I’ve had a few games where one participant doesn’t arrive and you don’t know this until after the match starts. In these cases I’ve recruited another from the club to step in and it works fine but we lose the match result.

  • Hi Rob,👋

    Thanks for sharing your feedback.🙏

At the moment, it's not possible to change players once the match has started (or right before it starts), as removing a player at that stage would cause the match to be cancelled.

We understand the situation you described, and we really appreciate your feedback. We hope to offer more flexibility for cases like this in the future.

Thanks again, and have a great day!🎾
