At Playtomic, we want your match history to reflect exactly what happens on the court. That's why we've updated our validation system to accept results for all common pickleball formats, whether you play to 11, 15, or 21 points. Single-game matches now count, too.😊
What’s new
We updated how Playtomic validates pickleball match results so you can save scores for the most common official formats:
- Games played to 11 points (no change)
- Games played to 15 points (new)
- Games played to 21 points (new)
Until now, the app only accepted pickleball results that matched an 11-point game, which meant many players could not save legitimate results that use 15 or 21 points.
With this update, you can record your real results without having to change the score to “make it work”.
What scores are accepted?
A result is valid when:
- One team reaches 11, 15, or 21, and
- They win by at least 2 points (or by exactly 2 points after deuce, like 16–14 or 22–20).
Examples (now accepted):
- 15–10, 15–11, 15–12
- 21–10, 21–15, 21–18
- 22–20
Examples (still rejected):
- 11–10, 15–14, 21–20 (not “win by 2”)
- 14–10, 20–15 (winner did not reach a valid target)
Single-game matches now count (pickleball)
Pickleball does not require a minimum number of sets to be “official”, and many players record single-game results. If you enter at least 1 valid game, the match will now count and show a winner/loser for pickleball.
FAQ
- Do I need to choose if we played to 11, 15, or 21?
No. You can enter the result normally. The app will accept it as long as it matches at least one of the supported official formats. - Does this change how pickleball scoring works (side-out vs rally scoring)?
No. This update only affects how the app validates the final score you enter. - Does this affect padel or tennis?
No. This change is only for pickleball.
