How to change your level

How to lower your level

If you feel that your padel level should be lower than your current one, you can easily adjust it to match your playing style.

🚨 Important: Once you lower your level manually in the app, you can’t change it back. You can increase it again by joining a leveling session to certify that it is higher, by winning competitive matches (your level will adjust automatically based on your results), or by using the self-upgrade feature (when available).

Steps to lower your level:

  1. Go to the Profile section and tap on your level.
  2. Click on "Lowering Level" and then "Lower your level" once more.
  3. Choose the level that matches your playing style and click "Change your level".
  4. Confirm by clicking "Yes, lower your level".

âś… Your level has been updated!

📱 At the moment, only the padel level can be lowered through the app.

How to increase your level

There are two ways to increase your level in Playtomic:

1. Self-upgrade function (in-app)

The self-upgrade feature allows you to increase your level directly in the app, but it's not always available for all users. Here's how it works:

  • You need to receive a sufficient number of positive reviews from opponents you've played against.
  • When you consistently receive feedback indicating you play at a higher level, the app will unlock the self-upgrade option for you.
  • Once available, you'll see a notification or option in your profile to raise your level.
  • When triggered, the level can increase by up to 0.5 points.
  • This feature is designed to reward players who demonstrate they belong at a higher level based on peer feedback.

⚠️Important: If you receive the self-upgrade notification but do not act on it before playing another match, the option will disappear and will no longer be available. Once this happens, the self-upgrade cannot be recovered or re-triggered; the system does not support retroactive updates.

đź’ˇ Tip: Keep playing matches and encouraging opponents to leave honest reviews. The more positive feedback you receive about your skill level, the sooner you'll unlock the self-upgrade feature.

2. Leveling sessions at partner clubs

You can also increase your level by participating in a leveling evaluation session at one of our partner clubs. These sessions are conducted by certified coaches who will assess your playing level.

These events can be found in the Learn section of the Playtomic app. Check out this article for more details about leveling sessions.

Ready to level up? Keep playing, get great reviews, and watch your level grow! 🎾

  • I’d love to see more options for changing my level. Right now it seems like only Playtomic can adjust it, and the clubs near me have told me the same thing.
I play at several clubs here in Bali, and many of them run their own apps. In those apps I’m rated around 3.6 to 3.7. On Playtomic I’m still at 1.8, simply because I hadn’t been using it. It would be great if I could upload proof from these other clubs to bring my level in line. None of the clubs around me offer a leveling service, so the app is really the only path I have.
    Thanks for considering it.

  • Hi Nils,đź‘‹
Thanks so much for sharing your feedback — we completely understand how frustrating it can feel when your Playtomic level doesn’t yet reflect your experience from other clubs and platforms.

At the moment, we’re unfortunately not able to validate or import levels from external apps or rating systems, as we can only rely on activity and feedback generated within Playtomic itself.

The best way to improve your level is to keep playing competitive matches on Playtomic and encourage your opponents to leave honest feedback after games. This will also help unlock the self-upgrade option explained in this article.

We really appreciate your understanding, and we hope you continue having a great time on court in Bali 🎾
